Meet Peter Rabbit. His favorites are my beans and lettuce. He's also eaten my kale. He's just a baby, so the fencing doesn't even slow him down. Those petunias should be doing so much better, but they are apparently delicious as were the pansies and all the flowers I tried to start from seed.
Peter is a very hungry little rabbit. He eats EVERYTHING! A neighbor had a lovely suggestion to overlay two layers of the fencing we put in to keep out the rabbits in a staggered pattern, so that the holes are smaller. It's rather ingenious, but seems so exhausting to execute!
I'm hoping the iris' can hold out long enough to get established. They don't mind our clay, so maybe that needs to be my tack. Just keep filling the gaps with stuff he'd rather not eat.
